In the Fall of 2022, residents in 3 Olathe neighborhoods were surveyed about neighborhood priorities.

The next steps in the process will be:

• City staff, along with any residents who would like to be involved, will assess survey results and work together to create strategies to address issues raised by residents in each neighborhood.
• Strategies that come out of these meetings will be shared with residents of each neighborhood.

Each year, City staff presents a summary of the Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative to the City Council. The report provides an overview of alignment with the 2040 strategic plan, HNI program overview, accomplishments, the healthy neighborhood index, and what's on our radar moving forward.

The City studies Neighborhood Indicators to assess the social, physical, and economic environments of our community. These core indicators help us evaluate programs and activities in specific areas and identify where additional resources may be needed.

The City collects and reports this data every other year, utilizing four (4) key data sets to monitor changes in quality-of-life factors at the neighborhood level. This initiative is aimed at fostering an enriching and vibrant community for all residents.
