Children are permitted to stay a maximum of two hours per day. Hours may be consecutive or separate. A $1 per minute late charge will be assessed after two hours.

The OCC Kids Club is available as an add-on cost to Community Center memberships on a monthly or on a drop-in basis and to day pass customers.

Punch Passes 

OCC Kids Club punch passes are also available to purchase for OCC members and non-members. Each pass is good for 10 OCC Kids Club visits with one punch per child, per visit. A10-punch Kids Club Pass $50 for OCC members and $75 non-members

The Olathe Community Center Kids Club utilizes the ProCare app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Parents must fill out and submit the ProCare information form online prior to their child's first visit. 

Check-In

Check-in is initiation at the OCC front desk. After payment or membership confirmation, parents escort their children to the Kids Club room.

• Parents must check their child in using the ProCare app before leaving.
• Children must remove shoes upon entering the room. Sock are required.
• Parents must remain in the OCC for the entire time their child is checked in.
  • Staff will message through ProCare for any care that is required outside of the OCC Kids Club scope of offered services.

Check-Out

The same parent/guardian who checked in the child must check them out. Check-out is done using an assigned PIN through ProCare.

The children will be kept occupied by Kids Club staff. Staff will always provide positive, age-appropriate interactions with the child/children and encourage creative play. Staff will be creative and use resources available. Floor activities may be required. A monthly calendar is available to view the upcoming themes/activities.

• Parents and/or legal guardians must remain in the center at all times.
  • The same parent or guardian needs to drop off and pick up the child and a photo ID and/or ProCare pin will be required.
• Children are permitted to stay a maximum of two hours per day. A $1 per minute fee will be charged if children remain in Kids Club longer than two hours.
• Services are on a first come, first served basis.
• Staff is not allowed to change diapers or assist with potty training. In the event that your child needs to be changed, staff will contact the parent.
• No food or beverages will be accepted or left for the child. All feedings should occur prior to check in.
  • Labeled, spill-proof water bottles are allowed.
• For the health and safety of all children and staff, if a child exhibits symptoms of sickness or illness the parent or guardian will be notified to pick up the child. Staff cannot administer any medicine or treatments.
• The Community Center reserves the right to remove or suspend children perceived as an endangerment to themselves or others. Additionally, the Community Center reserves the right to suspend Kids Club privileges from any member or non-member who consistently neglects the policies.
• The Kids Club staff will handle minor behavioral problems. The parent/guardian will be messaged through ProCare or paged if problems persist or if there is a potential threat of injury to another child or staff member. The following steps will be taken for behavioral issues:
  • Call the parent or guardian to return to the Kids Club room immediately.
  • Document the exact issue in the ProCare app (time, exact behavior issue, corrective actions taken).
  • If severe, call a Youth Recreation Specialist or Manager for assistance.
• The Community Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
• Per risk management directives, the Olathe Community Center Kids Club will have a ratio of one staff for every six children, with a maximum of 12 children in the room.
• Kids Club will keep children separated by age.
  • Morning sessions: children ages 6 months-6 years in the Kids Club room.
  • Afternoon sessions & Saturdays: younger children (6 months-5 years) will be in the Kids Club room. School-aged children (6-10 years) will be in party rooms.
  • A child requiring greater care than the one staff per six children is beyond the expertise and scope of the offered services.
  • We work to always maintain this best practice, although as a drop-in babysitting program, ratios may become skewed for brief periods of time. We reserve the right to limit the number we serve to maintain the safety of all children.
• The parent/guardian and each child will be given a ProCare account. Set up is required prior to first use by downloading the ProCare app to their mobile device. The parent/guardian must have the ProCare app on their device and sign in before leaving their child with the Kids Club.
• All toys and games will have pieces counted on an ongoing basis. Any recommendation for replacing inventory should be documented and provided to the OCC Kids Club staff. Toys or equipment deemed unsafe are to be immediately removed from the room and children.
• All washable toys will be washed at the end of each session. All furniture including chairs, tables and other areas used by children will be wiped with disinfectant at the end of each session.
• If a child is playing with a toy and gets bodily fluid on it (saliva, spit-up) and stops using the toy, it must come off the floor and be placed in a designated container to be washed and sanitized at end of day.
• All dishwasher safe toys in dishwasher overnight.
• All other toys will be washed in the Preschool classroom sink and leave to dry overnight.
