HNTB was selected by the City of Olathe based on qualifications and a proven track record.
The individuals on the HNTB team have successfully delivered in key roles on many past relevant Stormwater Management Program (SMP) projects that have resulted in the removal of over 60 homes from the floodplain. In addition, they have provided the following services on these projects: open-channel hydraulic modeling, project phasing, storm sewer improvements, flood mitigation, streambank stabilization, overbank benching, channel modifications, roadway modifications, full-service utility coordination including the design of relocated water lines and sanitary sewers, construction consultation and periodic inspection, FEMA floodplain/floodway compliance, best management practices (BMPs), and Kansas Division of Water Resources (DWR) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) environmental permitting.
This expertise, coupled with the experience of the other support disciplines (structural, public involvement, surveying, geotechnical, and construction), brings a wealth of expertise, which will be used to provide sustainable, cost-effective solutions for this project.
