The Black Bob Road Improvements Project, 153rd Terrace to 167th Street, will improve the safety and capacity of this roadway.

This section of Black Bob Road will be widened to a four-lane divided arterial section. Improvements will include curb and gutter, right and left turn lanes, new storm sewer, a raised median, streetlights, bicycle lanes in each direction (from 159th Street to 167th Street), and sidewalks on either side of the roadway.

Project Updates

The Black Bob Road Improvements project (153^rd Terrace to 167^th Street) is a nearly two mile long roadway improvement that is broken down into two sub projects, with 159^th Street serving as the general dividing line.

Black Bob ‘South’ (159^th Street to 167^th Street)

The design of this section is approximately 60% finished and work will continue towards final plans.

Utility relocation work is expected to begin this fall with the major effort belonging to Evergy.

The acquisition of necessary right-of-way and easements has been initiated and those property owners should be contacted within 30 to 60 days.

Black Bob ‘North’ (153^rd Terrace to 159^th Street)

The design of this section has just begun and more information will be posted as the design develops.
