The Otters is a recreation program that will teach athletes skill and technique and works on speed and endurance while providing a fun, safe and team-oriented environment. Two to three regular season meets will be held on some Saturday mornings.

This program is not a substitute for swim lessons. To join the team, swimmers should be:

• Between ages 5 and 18 as of June 1, 2024
• Able to swim 25 yards of freestyle unassisted with their face in the water and without touching the bottom

Register online through May 30 for $118 per swimmer. Fees cover a t-shirt and swim cap.

Practice Schedules

Practices are held at Oregon Trail Pool.

• Ages 12 and under: Monday-Thursday, 5 to 6 p.m.
• Ages 13 and over: Monday-Thursday, 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.

Olathe Parks & Recreation sponsors the Olathe Cyclones Swim & Dive Team to promote a summer youth recreation team in Olathe.

The team is a member of the Johnson County Swim & Dive League, competing in both competitive and pre-competitive meets with other cities in the league. 

The Cyclones Swim & Dive Team offers:

• Competitive swim and dive teams.
• A pre-competitive level develops swim strokes and endurance to prepare for competition. This level is not intended to teach swimming.

Requirements

• Team members are ages 6-18.
• Swim Team or Dive Team Cost is $165/$150 Olathe Resident, including a T-shirt.
• Both Swim Team and Dive Team Cost is $250/$230 Olathe Resident, including a T-shirt.
