The two-story station will sit on 2-acres at the southwest corner of Pioneer Park. Station 9 will face, and be accessed from, College Boulevard.

All Olathe fire stations are located in or near neighborhoods. And, Olathe firefighters have been regularly referred to as good neighbors. With sound typically limited, most residents appreciate having fire and emergency medical assistance nearby. A public, neighborhood project meeting was held in August 2024 to hear feedback from residents who live near the new station. This feedback was shared with the design team and the City’s Planning Commission as part of the Preliminary Site Development Plan approval process.

Station 9 is a capital improvement project (PN 6-C-013-23) with a budget of $15.17 million, which includes building design and construction. Funding is through General Obligation Bonds.
