Emergency Notification System
NotifyJoCo is an emergency notification system used to contact individuals who live or work in Johnson County.
This free public notification system will communicate emergency information to you through phone, text and email.
Participating local governments and utility providers can notify you about issues affecting locations you identify. Emergency notifications will be sent in cases that need your immediate response, such as tornado warnings, evacuation notices, and public health alerts.
To use the system
Go to NotifyJoCo.org or call 913-826-5555 to register your personal contact preferences. You will be asked to:
- Provide your contact information
- Identify multiple locations you care about such as your home, work, or your child’s school
- Choose the type of messages you want to receive
All information you provide will be kept confidential and only used to contact you about emergencies and topics for which you express interest.
When there is an event
Authorized county and city officials will identify the affected areas and transmit a message through your preferred contact method.
NotifyJoCo can send a minimum of 100,000 notifications per hour, allowing for immediate contact.
