Under Kansas law, a Transportation Development District (TDD) can generate revenue to pay the costs of transportation infrastructure improvements in and around new development.

A petition of 100 percent of the landowners can request:

• The levy of special assessments or,
• A sales tax, up to one percent, on goods and services sold within a specific area
