Elections

  • Elections are held in odd-numbered years.
  • Primary elections are held on the first Tuesday in August.
  • General elections are held on Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

City Council Terms

City Councilmembers are elected to serve four-year, staggered terms.

Requirements for Qualified Candidates for Mayor or At Large Councilmember

  • Eighteen years of age
  • A citizen of the United States
  • A resident of the City of Olathe
  • A registered voter

Requirements for Qualified Candidates for Ward Councilmember

  • Eighteen years of age
  • A citizen of the United States
  • A resident of the ward
  • A registered voter
