The Olathe Historic Preservation Board (OHPB) is a seven-member board appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the Olathe City Council.
The board advises property owners, as well as other boards and the Governing Body on matters affecting historically significant structures, landmarks, sites, and neighborhoods.
Members serve 3-year terms. As a Certified Local Government recognized by the Kansas State Preservation Office and the National Park Service, a minimum of four (4) members shall be preservation related professionals. The OHPB is composed of people who have a demonstrated interest in historic preservation through their community and/or professional involvements. Board members are drawn from such backgrounds as history, archaeology ,architecture, urban planning & design, neighborhood and community development, geography, real estate, law, finance, building trades or related areas.
Board Meetings are held quarterly at Olathe City Hall, 100 E. Santa Fe and begin at 3:00 PM. Please contact the Planning Office for more information.
