Thanks to support from the Mahaffie Foundation, this event is FREE to attend!
Parking is available at the Heritage Center and at the Olathe Community Center,. The Knights of Columbus will be in the lots to direct traffic.
We're open from 6 to 10 p.m. The theme this week is 1860s Fireworks. *You must be on the grounds to be able to view the fireworks display.*
- Be in the Mahaffie Parade! We need decorated wagons, strollers, scooters, bicycles! The parade is at 7 p.m., participants line up near the entrance to the grounds about 6:45 p.m.
- The Olathe Civic Band will perform on the grounds beginning about 7:30 p.m.
- The Forget Me Nots play about 8:30 p.m.
- Patriotic music begins about 9:15 p.m.
- Fireworks begin about 9:30 p.m.
- Picnics encouraged!
- Pie, ice cream, root beer sales in the back yard of the farmhouse.
- El Didi's street tacos will be sold by the picnic shelter.
- 1860s living history such as:
- visiting the Mahaffie house,
- Agricultural Heritage Livestock Barn
- cookstove demonstrations

- Making an 'S' Hook in the blacksmith shop, ages 8 & up, $4/hook
You are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic. Please leave your pets at home.

*Purchase activity tickets in the Heritage Center using cash, check or credit card. Activity tickets are non-refundable but can be used for other Thursday night activities. Each activity ticket is $1. Cash is also accepted at activity stations.
