Kick off the holiday season with the annual Celebrate Olathe and Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, Dec. 6, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Olathe Community Center (1205 E. Kansas City Rd.).

Mayor Michael Copeland and Fox 4 reporter Matt Stewart will light the Mayor’s Christmas Tree at 6:15 p.m. Then, enjoy an evening of music with the Olathe Civic Band and choirs from Olathe Public Schools. Visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Joey the Elf. Activities also include food trucks, a photo booth, cookie decorating and more.
