The City of Olathe will hold an informational meeting regarding improvements to the Indian Creek channel between approximately S. Albervan St. and S. Pflumm Rd. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 16, 2017, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Heatherstone Elementary School, 13745 W. 123rd St. in Olathe.
The project is designed to stabilize the Indian Creek streambanks, where areas of erosion are becoming a threat to adjacent properties. Improvements will include modification to residential properties, resulting in removal from the FEMA regulated 100-year floodplain. The project will also address erosion concerns with streamway, channel, and grading improvements, which will stabilize streambanks.
Easement acquisition will begin this winter, with construction planned to follow.
