Kick off the holiday season with the annual Celebrate Olathe and Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, Nov. 30, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Olathe Community Center (1205 E. Kansas City Rd.).
Mayor Michael Copeland and Fox 4 Meteorologist Joe Lauria will light the Mayor’s Christmas Tree at 6:15 p.m. Then, enjoy an evening of music with the Olathe Civic Band, the Special Pops Choir, and choirs from Olathe Public Schools. Visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Joey the Elf. Activities also include food trucks, face painting, a photo booth, and a cookie decorating station.
